In this, you can enjoy guided tours to observe its magnificence, demonstrations of the power of the great volcano, and you can even eat in its restaurant with dishes made in the same heat remaining from the sleeping volcano.
The best beaches
Located in the municipality of Yaiza, within the town of Playa Blanca, you will find the Ajaches Nature Reserve, where the best and most beautiful beaches of the island are. Here you can find Playa Mujeres, which is the largest within this natural paradise. You can also stop by Papagayo Beach, Playa del Pozo or Puerto Muelas, the latter is nudist. Papagayo Beach is a small cove with turquoise waters and surrounded by large cliffs, it is one of the most famous in the Natural Reserve due to the spectacular landscape that is contemplated both on the beach itself and in its depths. For a reason, Lanzarote was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO on October 7, 1993.
Mirador del rio
Another of the visits of the island that you cannot miss is located at the top of the Risco de Famara and is a panoramic viewpoint from which you can see the nearby and fortunate island of La Graciosa, the El Rio Strait and the Chinijo archipelago. This spectacular viewpoint was created by Cesar Manrique, a reference on the island that you should also know on your visit, and it is a true work of art worthy of walking through it.
Puerto del Carmen
If you visit the island you will pass through here for sure. It is the most tourist center of the island, where you can find numerous restaurants with native food, souvenir shops, beaches and other services that you would expect to find in a tourist area. The most advisable thing is to walk along the avenue of the beaches at sunset and end up having dinner in a restaurant on the seafront.
The Villa of Teguise
Another of the charming places of Lanzarote, a town careful to detail, where on Sundays you can enjoy a curious market where you can find both the typical souvenirs for tourists as native foods and many artisan products.
